Unique performance in the tradition of Moeders (Mothers)

Encouraged by his work for the TV series Boijmans TV, where he guided special groups of Rotterdam inhabitants through the museum, Jetse Batelaan dares to direct a city project for the Ro Theatre during Festival De Wereld van de Witte de With 2011.

The Bodybuilder’s Variety Show is an unique performance in the tradition of Mothers (2007). Together with a tight group of about ten Rotterdam kickboxers from the Persoonshaven (South Rotterdam), Batelaan presents a variety show. A show on solidarity, winning and learning to lose. On insides and outsides, pose and poetry, appearances and disappearances.

The Bodybuilder’s Variety Show plays on regular hours during De Wereld van de Witte de With (Fr + Sa 20.00, Su 15.00) and within 24 Uur Cultuur it plays on Sunday morning once at 9.00 (including breakfast!).
